Not the easiest to flight low into the wind Read our full Cobra Aerojet Fairway Review. It also comes in at a lower price point compared to some of the other best fairway woods on the market, which will make it an appealing club choice for many players. While we had some reservations of how well it performed from the deck, with the lower center of gravity perhaps hindering ball strikers who need a little more loft in their clubs from the ground - it is still a good option from the fairways. The club also delivers in the distance department too and it was a real joy to hit off the tee. It offers faster ball speeds across the whole face, meaning off-center hits still fly fast and true, particularly if struck from the heel. The shiny carbon finish on the crown may not be to everyone's tastes and can give off a lot of glare at address, but it still gives this clubhead a very premium profile.Ĭobra have made several improvements from the LTDx woods by using machine learning systems to enhance the Aerojet's H.O.T face. The Aerojet woods boast a similar aesthetic to the stunning Aerojet drivers, boasting a glossy black sole that is lit up by pops of blue, white and red. Having tested this fairway on the range and on the course, the gains were noticeable over the Rogue ST Max, with the Paradym launching higher, while generating faster ball speeds. It has been repositioned from the design on the Rogue to increase this fairway woods MOI and add more stability and forgiveness through impact. That comes largely from the gold weight that is situated behind the head of the club. The stunning carbon sole panel is a new construction model from the brand and comes with a lot of shelf appeal with some similar colors to its predecessor, the Callaway Rogue ST Max. At address the standard Paradym boasts a glossy clubhead and a matte black topline that adds to the feel that this is a very easy-to-hit golf club. All three boast some simply stunning visuals, and despite departing from the Paradym Driver's cool blue carbon effect, these clubs offer some excellent shelf appeal. And the feel on offer here, while it was a little muted, did give a powerful 'thud' when we really ripped through each shot. What's great about the Stealth 2 is that it also comes in a high launch (HL) model that sits at a 16º loft for those looking for more assistance when getting the ball into the air. That is helped by the excellent V Steel sole design on the club, that offered excellent turf interaction, gliding through damp first cuts of grass and punching through much thicker lies. It was super impressive and we were really able to get creative with this club out on the course. We found it performed really well out of a range of lies and could deliver a variety of flights. What really surprised us here, though, was how versatile the Stealth 2 was. Flights went very high and even on poorly struck shots and the Stealth 2 appeared to be one of the most forgiving fairway wood options on the market. On testing, we found it very easy to get the ball into the air, with the ball feeling like it came off the face very hot compared to the Callaway Paradym. That helps to create a lower center of gravity and improve the launch heights players can get on the golf ball. While metal woods are by far some of the hardest clubs in the bag to hit, TaylorMade have gone to great lengths to improve the feel and consistency on this offering by making it lighter and pushing the weight towards the toe and rear of the club.
